Baldric

Description
The winged sun-wheel appears on a light blue disc representing the New Guinea skies, flanked by two gold embroidered loops which refer to World War II battles in the Pacific, and suggest the contrails and evasive maneuvers of the fighting  planes and ships in that theater of the war. The bands identifying number and name appear on an embroidered ellipse in the upper area of the baldric. The outer surface of the baldric is dark blue to suggest the Pacific Ocean; the lining is light blue. The awards ribbons are located near the lower end of the baldric.
